Apples are HETEROZYGOUS allowing random variations and significantly different apple seeds from a parent apple tree. This is why apples are grafted. For example, the Liberty Apple tree my family gifted me for mother's day was grafted so that the liberty apples that grow on this tree taste like liberty apples. The seeds from these apples, if planted, however can produce great variations (like sweet, tart, bitter, red, or green) that are different from "liberty apple characteristics".

Humans are also Heterozygous!
